Heading to Charleston for its third consecutive year is the film buffs foodie haven of the Charleston Food and Film Festival. This year’s multisensory event will be held in The Cedar Room at the Cigar Factory for three nights between November 11-13.
In a film festival unlike any other, food- and drink-themed films will unfold in front of a seated audience as they eat and taste what they see, from the comfort of their own theatre seat.
Local and national chefs, beverage professionals, and artisans will all be hard at work creating delicious bite size dishes for the foodie loving audience.
Event Highlights:
Opening night promises to be an unmissable event with the kick off with the world premiere of Anthony Bourdain's new film Parts Unknown. A viewing audience will enjoy everything from whole hog from Rodney Scott's personal Waffle House tasting menu.
Other festival highlights include The Edible Adventure including films about the Charleston craft beer scene, free-range pig farming in Italy, Spanish Caviar and everything in between. The closing night will host the Food Porn Party, which promises a 'steamy night of extreme eats and culinary close ups'.
A selection of international and local films will feature throughout including Cuda, about Summerville, S.C.’s iconic delicacy, the Frank Cuda hot dog, and Cultured Craft Beer, a film about Charleston’s buzzing brewery scene. You can get the full list of films here.
