Food waste has become one of the biggest issues of the day with new laws being passed to force supermarkets to reduce waste, new apps being launched to make sure waste food goes to hungry mouths, and a number of initiatives being started to promote the use of waste produce in the kitchen.
Many people are now more aware of the problem, but not so many know just how large the food waste numbers are.
