Chef’s Cup 2014: Haute Cuisine Meets Skiing
The Chef's Cup 2014, the exciting event where chefs face off in the kitchen and on the slopes, will take place in Italy's Alpine region on January 19-24.
Italy is gearing up for the ninth edition of the Audi Chef’s Cup - the annual event that combines celebrity chefs, haute cuisine and skiing - to be held from January 19th to 24th.
For a whole week the breathtaking Alpine region of Alta Badia, in Italy, will be the stage where chefs from all over Europe get to showcase their talent in the kitchen and on the slopes. The event is designed to highlight the unique ingredients of the region while showcasing the craftsmanship of local producers.
The event is the brainchild of two Michelin-starred chef Norbert Niederkofler and is sponsored also by S. Pellegrino and Acqua Panna. Since 2004, it has brought together stars of the international culinary scene in an unusual and relaxed environment.
The Chef’s cup will kick off on the 19th with a torchlight procession of chefs and an inaugural dinner. On the 20th, the mountains will come alive during the day with the Acqua Panna / San Pellegrino Chef's Ski Cup, a unique affair where chefs take to the snow.
The rest of the agenda is packed of with fun culinary and sporting events like cooking classes, cooking demos and a special nose-to-tail dinner. Local Michelin-starred restaurants like St. Hubertus and hotels like Relais & Chateaux Rosa Alpina will open their doors to visitors.
Particpating chefs include Felice Lo Basso, Davide Scabin, Alfio Ghezzi, Giancarlo Morelli, Filippo La Mantia, Marianna Vitale, Mattia Spadone, Roy Caceres, Cristina Bowerman and Ernesto Iaccarino. A full list of all the chefs in attendance can be found on the Chef's Cup website.
