Virgilio Martinez To Cook Up A Storm In Argentina

Acclaimed Peruvian chef Virgilio Martinez and his wife fellow chef Pía León will prepare a special dinner in Buenos Aires.

Virgilio Martinez, one of the hottest chefs in the Peruvian food scene, is headed to Buenos Aires. The chef is visiting Argentina to participate in a special event in which international chefs show off their cooking skills.

Martinez is the owner of Central in Lima, which ranks 50th on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna. He's also the chef at Lima in London, which was recently awarded a Michelin star.

Martinez will be joined by his wife and fellow chef Pía León (photographed above) and together they will cook up a storm at El Baqueano, one of the city's most renown restaurants.  The dinner is part of Cocina Sin Fronters (Kitchen Without Borders), a monthly event which has featured the participation of chefs like Alex Atala

The reservation-only special dinner will take place October 12th at 8 pm. The cost will be $500 Argentinian pesos (about $86).
