Alex Atala To Cook In Buenos Aires
Acclaimed Brazilian chef Alex Atala will cook in Argentina for the first time as part of a cultural exchange with El Baqueano restaurant.
Acclaimed Brazilian chef Alex Atala has accomplished a great deal of things in his career: his restaurant D.O.M. ranks among the top 10 in the world, he's one of Time's 100 most influential people and he's become a renown speaker at food festival around the world.
But there's one thing this stellar chef has yet to scratch off his bucket list: cooking in Argentina. Luckily, Atala is scheduled to cook at the famed El Baqueano restaurant in Buenos Aires on July 13th.
El Baqueano is known for its modern spin on Argentinian cuisine. It is located in San Telmo, the oldest neighborhood in Buenos Aires and was named in Conde Nast Traveler's 2009 Hot List for best new restaurants.
Atala will participate in a project called Cocina sin Fronteras (Cooking without Borders), which seeks to promote an intercultural exchange between countries. It's a great opportunity for the chef to show off his skills as the Best Chef in South America, an award that was bestowed upon him at The 2013 World's 50 Best Restaurant awards sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna.
The dinner costs $1,200 but there are no places left. However, you can still sign up for the waiting list. In the meantime, you can feast your eyes on Baqueano's dishes on Flickr.
