The Shape of Flavor Exhibit

Italy's MART Museum is currently exhibiting an exquisite series of food art and cooking demos from renown Italian chefs like Davide Scabin and Moreno Cedroni

Have you ever given any thought to the geometry of cannoli? Or the difference in layers between a lasagna and tiramisu? An unconventional museum exhibit in Italy aims to explore the answers to these food curiosities and more.

Called Progetto Cibo: La Forma del Gusto (which translates as Project Food: The Shape of Flavor), the exhibit features exquisite works of food art like geometrical cakes, sugar spoons, edible pens and pasta shaped like chairs. The exhibit will be shown at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto, also known as MART.

Stellar chefs contributing to the exhibit include Gualtiero Marchesi, Luigi Taglienti and Davide Scabin. Participating designers and architects include Enrico Azzimonti, Bompas&Parr, Achille Castiglioni and Alessandro Mendini.

Along with delectable food art, guests will be able to sample food from renown Italian chefs  as part of a series called Mart Cooking (which ends May 22nd). The first 40 guests to reserve their spot will enjoy a food and wine pairing for 30euros ($40) per person. Below is the schedule:
