The Game of Thrones is becoming much more than an epic television show. The medieval fantasy land of Westeros is invading the kitchens of hungry fans wanting to try the many dishes and drinks feautured on the show.
With that in mind, we'd like to share a very special recipe for lemon cakes featured in The Unofficial Game of Thrones Cookbook: From Direwolf Ale to Auroch Stew, More Than 150 Recipes From Westeros and Beyond. The cookbook was written by Alan Kistler, who is a huge fan of the show based on the novels of George R. R. Martin.
Alan's recipe for lemon cakes is an ode to Arya, a fierce young girl trained in the art of swordfighting. These lemon cakes are a bit like pancakes, but puffier. If you are a hardcore fans of the show, we suggest you wash them down with some Game of Thrones beer.
