There are numerous food–related emojis available, but one creative pairing has quite literally devised emoji food. Photographer Agustín Nieto and food stylist Anna Keville Joyce, both based in Buenos Aires have come together on a project called Emojis & Food – Universal Languages.
Three countries are represented: Italy is an ‘in love’ emoji of spaghetti, tomato sauce, peppercorns and a touch of basil; Mexico a ‘sunglasses’ emoji of rice, beans and red peppers; and Japan an ‘astonished’ emoji of salmon, seaweed, rice and soy.

The project is a “A conceptual food photography series communicating through two universal languages.” They forgot the third language: the language of fun. That’s just what this emoji food art is.
