Parabere Forum, the global summit featuring women's views and voices on major issues in the food and drinks world, have launched the Parabere Gourmet City Guide app. What they claim is the first app in the world to feature hospitality businesses owned and led by women.
Parabere launched the app to highlight and support their growing network of 5000 women across 40 countries. The first version offers tips on a whole mix of female-led food and drink businesses in 12 cities around the world: Bangkok, Berlin, Copenhagen, Galway, Istanbul, London, Melbourne, Mexico City, Montreal, New York City, Paris and Sydney.
Within each city, the places are categorised into six sections: bars, casual eateries, food shops, restaurants, street food and sweet tooth. The app is also available to use offline which is handy when overseas. It is compatible with Google maps which allows you to see nearby businesses and users can save places for later by adding it to their favourites.
Users can also suggest a place to be added to the list by simply e-mailing Parabere. The only rule is that the business is owned or co-owned by a woman or that it is run by a woman.
It can be downloaded on the App Store or Google Play.
