There no slowing down the teenage chef sensation Flynn McGarry who has now opened his first restaurants in New York.
Called Gem, the cosy looking spot is located in New York’s Lower East Side and the decor, food, and location show just how ambitious the young chef can be.
Gem serves up two spaces and themes, The Living Room: a coffee shop style space with where guests are invited to relax and enjoy homemade pastries, this space is open daily. The Dining Room, open Tuesday to Saturday from 6-9 pm, is where McGarry will serve up signature dishes such as his Ritz inspired crackers topped with foie gras, all part of a 12-15 course tasting menu that costs $155.
The place only opened a few days ago so details are still emerging, menu items so far include: pumpkin char siu with koji and lime, new potatoes cooked in yogurt with mussels and hazelnuts and beet greens and bordelaise.
