A chef is in hot water after boasting of feeding meat to vegans without their knowledge, on social media.
According to Metro, Laura Goodman, the chef-owner of Carlini, an Italian restaurant in Shropshire, England posted on 30 December about spiking a vegan who was part of a group booked in for dinner on a Friday night: “Pious, judgmental vegan (who I spent all day cooking for) has gone to bed, still believing she’s a vegan,’ she said in the post to The Boring Group Facebook group.
When pressed about whether this meant she had put meat in a vegan customer’s meal, Goodman responded by suggesting that she had in fact spiked the whole group. “Actually I should have said “they’re” not a vegan… not “she’s”. Goodman also later posted in the group that she had “spiked a vegan.”
Goodman’s comments were met with outrage on social media, and the restaurant’s TripAdvisor and Google pages have since been flooded with one star reviews. The restaurant’s website and Facebook account have now been closed.
This reminds us of the time a young chef boasted about feeding meat to vegans and was promptly fired. Along with Goodman, one of the dumbest chefs ever, we’re sure you’ll agree.
