The actress Scarlett Johansson, star of Lost in Translation and the Avengers franchise will open a gourmet popcorn store in Paris later this week, according to The Telegraph.
The store, called Yummy Pop, will launch in the Marais district on Saturday as a soft opening, before opening fully later in the year. Flavourings will include truffle, parmesan and sage. A spokesperson for the actress has said that she is “passionate about popcorn.”
Yummy Pop is a joint venture between Johansson and her husband, a French advertising executive. The couple reportedly now spend most of their time in the French capital.
Johansson will be behind the counter at the soft opening on Saturday, so you can give her feedback on the popcorn directly, providing you can get through the queues of course. The gourmet snacks will be served alongside a selection of sides, including sea salt and olive oil, strawberries and cream, and chocolate covered strawberries.
The pair developed their menu with chef Will Horowitz of Ducks Eater and Harry and Ida’s in New York.
Johansson is one in a long line of celebrity restaurateurs. Earlier this year the footballer Lionel Messi opened his first restaurant in Barcelona.
