It’s been a long time coming, but David Muñoz of Madrid’s three Michelin star DiverXO will finally open a London venue in the fall.
Having originally been announced way back in 2014, StreetXO London will now open in Old Burlington Street in Mayfair on 31 October.
StreetXO is positioned as the more accessible sibling to Muñoz's three star restaurant (the only three Michelin star restaurant in Madrid). There is already a StreetXO in the Spanish capital.
The food will be Mediterranean and East Asian at heart, while also inspired by the street foods of South East Asia, South America and London. The menu of 14 sharing dishes will change regularly; dishes touted include Pekinese dumpling with crunchy pigs ear and strawberry hoi sin, a steamed club sandwich of ricotta cheese, quail egg and shichimi–togarashi, and kimchi croquetas with tuna and burnt butter, all presented in Muñoz's idiosyncratic and experimental style. Cocktails include a Liquid DiverXO of jasmine, coconut vinegar, lime, ginger and violet essence and The Smoker USA, which contains aged rum, lime juice, cola, cranberry juice, mandarin tea and ginger.

The restaurant will feature an open kitchen at its centre, where the chefs will serve the diners themselves, exposed pipework and salvaged fixtures.
Muñoz is no stranger to London of course, having previously worked at both Nobu and Hakkasan.
