Sumptuous feasts, boiling caludrons, and floating food markets were just a few of the winning entries selected out of over 7000 images entered into this year's Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2016.
Mark Benham's 'Flour Frenzy' (main photo) took the winning £5000 prize for the category 'Food in Action' capturing people cooking anywhere and everywhere all over the world.
Food critic and chairman of the judges Jay Rayner commented to the BBC that the photo has "a lovely structural element to it" and what's more "It's a scene that gives you the smell of the bakery before the ovens are turned on."
The illustrious panel of judges included a selection of nearly 40 food and wine editors, food phtographers including Jamie Oliver’s photographer David Loftus and Nigel Atherton, chefs Michael Caines, Ruth Rogers and Curtis Stone as well as many other food and drink experts.
Other categories included: Bring home the harvest, Cream of the Crop, Errazuriz Wine Photographer of the Year People, Places and Produce, Food Bloggers, Food for Celebration with photos ranging from remote or bustling food markets from around the world to unadulterated food porn.
You can see some of the winning shots below, with the full portfolio displayed on the website.
