After social media user Nathalie Gordon posted a picture on Twitter a few days ago showing how a Whole Foods store she was shopping in was selling pre-peeled oranges.
The tweet, an innocent comment on the crazy amount of packaging wasted to cover the oranges, went viral with 80,000 retweets and the news was picked up all over the web.
It seems people are, in the main, not happy with the laziness this type of product caters for and the waste of packaging.
It gained so much traction that Whole Foods - on the very same day the Tweet was sent - decided to pull the product. Now that’s 21st century consumer power right there.
