It’s the stuff of sci-fi futures - a knife that can cut and toast bread at the same time. The idea might have been made famous in The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy but one man has been crazy enough to try and actually make it.
Called Colin Furze - the YouTuber decided to make a knife that will both cut and toast and post the results of his experiment online.
The resulting video, however loud it may be, shows Furze’s crazy contraption in action, and guess what? It actually seems to work.
Although it looks like a health and safety web of danger, the Furzo Toasto works by heating the blade of a knife so hot that is cooks the bread at the same time as cutting it.
It’s totally crazy at the moment but we can’t be far off having the neat handheld version we all saw in the movies.
