They say that when it comes to cooking, grandmas always know best. Age brings with it a wealth of experience and the sort of patience required to cook those loving dishes that many restaurants desperately try to replicate.
With this idea in mind, French website Lou Pape is offering people the chance to rent their very own French grandma to cook for them as a personal chef.
The idea comes from Alizé Delbes who told Food & Wine that she came up with the idea when she was craving for her grandma’s cooking after moving to Paris.
The people who sign up to the site are all vetted for their skills in the kitchen and listed depending on their specialities, like Jean-Jack who will teach you how to make chocolat chaud mousseux, or Béatrice who will show you how to cook a perfect cabillaud à la tomate fraiche.
It’s an interesting idea that’s sure to catch on in a city like Paris that’s full of singletons who moved their to work.
At the moment there are four people signed up to the site with two females and two males but more are expected soon.
Here's our very own Italian Nonnas teaching us all how to make bread.
