San Diego-based artist Maria Mordvintseva-Keeler has come up with an ingenious way to blend food and novels. Her latest project Food for Thought features a collection of canned goods inspired by books with edible names.
The limited edition series of canned goods pays homage to Breakfast at Tiffany's, Naked Lunch and Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant. Each tin features a lovely illustration that offers hints as to its contents without revealing the plot, Mordvintseva-Keeler explains.
"By looking at the packaging you can find out the "daily value" of humor and irony that the book contains, the number of pages that make the perfect "serving size" and the ingredients of the novel. The product group on the packaging gives the chance to learn a few details about the main character at a glance," she writes.
We've seen cool graphic cans before but these novel-inspired canned goods take the cake. What do you think? Wouldn't they make a lovely decorative touch to a bookcase?
