KFC in the UK have launched the ’Scoff-ee Cup’ and edible coffee cup that smells like grass and tastes like chocolate.
At the moment the cups are just in the trial period and are not yet available to purchase but the company say they are developing the treat.
It’s made with biscuit that’s wrapped in star paper which is then lined with a later of heat-resistant white chocolate, allowing people to drink their hot coffee within the cup before eating it.
The company worked with the The Robin Collective, an experimental food company, to add scents of ‘coconut sun cream, freshly cut grass and wild flower" scents. KFC say they want to “evoke the positive memories we associate with warm weather, sunshine and summer holidays.”
It’s not the first time we’ve seen edible packaging for food, the Wiki Cells, developed at Harvard University, are an edible casing that can be flavored in a number of ways.
