This mobile space made from used coconut husks is the work of a group of 16 design students from Thailand’s Chulalongkorn University.
The team were researching a closed-loop sustainable cycle for the coconut with a goal of wasting none of the fruit.
By grinding down coconut material the team can then repress triangular boards using the waste husk and skin. These shapes are then strengthened using a framework of stainless steel.
The mobile space houses 15 stackable stools and four tables that can be quickly packed and transported on wheels. The design also houses two large shades to protect groups from the sun.
A social gathering space made from coconut - brilliant.
