Conventional wisdom says it is best not to mix drinks. If you don't heed the warning, you'll end up with a massive hangover, right? Then say hello to Vodquila, a hybrid spirit that's changing the cocktail game.
Vodquila offers vodka and tequila lovers the best of both worlds in a single drink with a "clean taste" and "rich aroma." The vodka is distilled six times while the tequila is made from 100% blue agave plants. The drinks are blended in a vat where they are left to infuse.
The unique drink was developed by a father-daughter team Chander Arora and Nina from Alabama. The idea came about when the duo was brainstorming different liquor combinations. The rest, as they say, is history.
Vodquila is sold in Eastern United States and will soon be introduced to the United Kingdom, The Telegraph reports. While some may have their reservations about blending two strong liquors like vodka and tequila, Vodquila recently quieted critics by winning silver in prestigious 2014 International Wine and Spirit Competition.
A visit to the company website reveals a number of interesting recipes including the Vodquila Sunrise and intriguing-sounding Twilight Zone. Would you give Vodquila a try? Or do you prefer your vodka sans tequila?
