The plant pot you see above actually began its life as a book cover. It was created by the Estudio Manifiesto Futura design studio as part of a project for Design Week Mexico as part of a project with the Rufino Tamayo Museum in Mexico City.
The cover is built using triangle chips which are of 100% biodegradable material. These chips can then be up-cycled into a plant pot.
The book/plant pot is the brainchild of designers Vicky Gonzalez and Ivan Garcia who said: "We managed to create an experience of surprise and satisfaction of the re-use of a functional object."
The Rufino Tamayo Museum is dedicated to the former private collection of artist Rufino Tamayo.
