Finally the much anticipated top ten winners of the Where to Eat awards in collaboration with S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna have been revealed. Selected by a panel of experts and the Russian city's fine dining lovers, the list gives you a true taste of St. Petersburg's rising restaurant scene.
To announce the winners, Where magazine invited 300 special guests to the impressive Astoria hotel for the official ceremony. The Chef of Astoria presented guests with a cocktail canapé menu. You can view the live streaming of the event by watching the following video, but, you don't need to wait until the ceremony is over to find out the names. Here is the list as well as news on special awards.
Award winners Where to Eat were:
1st place: Stroganoff Steak House
2nd place: PMI bar
3rd place: Mansarda
4th place: Ribeye
5th place: Terrassa
6th place: TAO
7th place: Barbaresco
8th place: MIX in St. Petersburg
9th place: Le Cristal
10th place: Russian Vodka Room No 1
In addition, a special jury selected the winners in five other categories:
Chef of the Year: Ivan Berezutski (PMI bar), in the picture above.
Sommelier of the year: Leonid Sternik (co-owner, manager and sommelier Vincent restaurant).
Special prize from the magazine Where St. Petersburg:
Restaurant critic of the year: Dmitry Grozny (columnist for Business St.Petersburg).
Special Prize of the Association Concierges Members of Les Clefs d'Or: Palkin restaurant.
Special prize of the media: GrandCru restaurant.
