Listen up, elBulli fans. Ferran Adrià has announced the El Bulli film based on his legendary restaurant will be an action flick.
While addressing the press at last week's elBulli Sotheby's auction, Adriá said the movie will be modeled after The Social Network and will highlight human values, according to El Comercio.
''I didn't know making a film was so complicated. They are looking for a director and for a film like this it's not easy,'' the chef said.
The film is based on the book The Sorcerers Apprentices, a Season in the Kitchen at Ferran Adrià's elBulli by Lisa Abend, correspondent for Time magazine in Spain.
So far, the film already has a producer and screenwriter but no one has been tapped to play Adriá. There have been rumors that celebrated Spanish actor Javier Bardem is a first pick but we've suggested a list of other Latin actors who we think are great contenders for the role.
Adrià told the press he has no preferece as to who should play him and confirmed the film has a budget of $70 million.
The chef shot to fame for his avant-garde restaurant in Roses, Spain, which closed in 2011. elBulli had three Michellin stars and topped the World's 50 Best Restaurants list a whopping five times. The list is sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna.
