Let's say you want to further your culinary skills but not necessarily become a chef. Where do you turn to? Perhaps Feast, an online culinary school for home cooks, is your best bet for no-frills cooking.
Feast is a concept created by David Spinks and taught by Brooklyn-based chef Jeremy Umansky. Unlike Chefsteps, an online cooking school for molecular gastronomy, Feast focuses on straight-forward home cooking. You'll learn basic skills like how to chop an onion, make stock and techniques like braising.
The school offers 4-week courses you can take at your own pace. Each course costs $60 and the website offers a full list of the tools and ingredients required for each class. Students also have access to Chef Jeremy for any questions they have along the way.
Curious? Feast is offering prospective students a free trial class on how to make kimchi. Sign up here for your free class and let us know how you like in the comments below or via Facebook or Twitter.
