An Illinois man was busted for stealing 42,000 pounds of Muenster cheese from Wisconsin worth $200,000, according to WISC-TV.
The cheesy thief presented false paperwork to distributor K&K Cheese last week and was able to load his 18-wheel truck with the 21 tons of cheese, according to news reports. He then drove East and was caught by authorities during at a rest stop along the New Jersey Turnpike. Originally, the cheese was destined for Texas.
WISC-TV reports the man charged with the cheese theft has been identified as Veniamin Konstantinovich Balika, a resident of Plainfield, Illinois. Authorities belive he was allegedly going to sell the cheese on the black market.
