Wall-Ye is an artificially intelligent robot that has been developed to help maintain the often vast vineyards found around the world.
Invented by Christophe Millot in France the robot is self sufficient in as much that it roams the vineyards using cameras and analyses vines that need to be trimmed.
The robot is equipped with two clipping arms and can automatically detect which stems need to be trimmed before setting about pruning the grape vines.
The idea was born after Christophespoke with a vineyard owner who complain of the growing shortage in staff. It has taken the inventor three years to develop the robot so far and he hope to see it in full production in the next few months.
Christophe says that a number of large vineyards have shown interest in the robot.
