Flynn McGarry is making a name for himself as the youngest chef in the world. He's just 13 years old but Flynn already has experience working in stellar restaurants in Chicago and Los Angeles. The culinary prodigy even operates a pop-up restaurant out of his home.
Flynn has made headlines across the nation. He's appeared on NBC News and has been featured in renown publications like the New Yorker, which referred to him as a ''wunderkid,'' and his home-town newspaper the Los Angeles Times. Flynn's adventures are documented on his sister's blog and his website Dining With Flynn.
The talented teenager dreams of having his own three Michelin starred restaurant. By the looks of his resume, he just might. He has trained at Chicago's Next and Alinea, cutting edge restaurants run by his chef idol Grant Achatz. Alinea ranked 7th in the World's 50 Best Restaurant awards 2012 list, sponsored by S. Pellegrino and Acqua Panna.
Flynn most recently worked at L.A.'s Playa Restaurant. John Sedlar, executive chef at Playa, had this to say about Flynn: ''He's a very unsual young man and he's very very passionate.''
Flynn's food has received great reviews and he doen't plan on stopping anytime soon. His summer plans include training at New York's three Michelin starred Eleven Madison Park and finishing 8th grade. Watch the video below to see Flynn in action at the Modernist Cuisine kitchen where he trained earlier this year.
