Best Sommelier of the Americas 2022

The Best Sommelier of the Americas 2022 competition will take place Concepción, Chile, in partnership with Acqua Panna and S. Pellegrino, from 16 to 19 February 2022.

Twenty highly-trained sommeliers from across North, Central and South America, will compete head-to-head in this demanding competition hosted by The Association of Sommeliers of Chile, with the ambition of being crowned best sommelier in the Americas and the chance to compete in the world championship.

Each sommelier will take part in three challenging rounds during the competition, which increase in difficulty: a written test of theoretical knowledge; an assessment of service skills; and finally, a blind tasting to identify wines and other beverages in front of a live audience.

The competition forms one of the three continental contests hosted by the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale (ASI). The winner of each continental round will automatically have the opportunity to compete in the next ASI Best Sommelier of the World contest.
