The ‘King of Fruits’, the divisive Durian has now been made into a whisky and apparently it tastes like an alcoholic milkshake.
Made by Malaysian company Tropical Wine Sdn Bhd., the drink is called a whisky, even though it doesn’t actually conform to any of the standards of traditional whisky. It is instead, an incredibly sweet liqueur that fans of the Durian fruit will no doubt be delighted with.
It is claimed that the drink is made “brewed from 100% pure, delicious flesh of the Musang King durian,” using a “patented fermentation technology” that combine the juice of the fruit, ethanol and sugar.
The Durian is not appreciated by everybody but those who do like it really do love it. While it is the national fruit of Singapore, because of its noxious odour, it is banned from public transport in the country.
