Dining at a Michelin-starred restaurant can be expensive, and while of course every year we hear about street food vendors and noodle houses that offer delicious local delicacies at dirt cheap prices, for the most part, dinner at a starred restaurant is for the well off, or for special occasions.
The staff at Chef’s Pencil have researched 3,500 one-, two-, and three-star restaurants’ seasonal and tasting menus to compile a list of the most expensive Michelin-starred restaurants according to their 2024 offering. All prices are person and generally don’t include beverages. Tokyo and New York unsurprisingly, feature towards the top of the list of most expensive Michelin-starred restaurants, with Paris, Copenhagen, and San Francisco also appearing in the top 10.
