S.Pellegrino Sapori Ticino 2020

S.Pellegrino Sapori Ticino, the annual gourmet festival, returns for a 14th season with an illustrious line-up of star-studded dinners in the spectacular Swiss canton of Ticino, from 20 September to 25 October.

Showcasing the very best of Swiss talent, this year's theme is 'Switzerland at the table' and serves as a moment of reflection. Patron Dany Stauffacher said he “wants to give a strong signal to the entire restaurant sector and of tourism by organising one of the few, if not the only event, to promote a sector which was greatly affected by the current situation, proposing a 'virtual' trip to some of the best tables in our country."

A host of dinners will unfold in stunning locations around the glistening lake, with an opening gala dinner on 20 September at the Splendide Royal Hotel in Lugano where several chefs of the Swiss Deluxe Hotels group will collaborate in an evening of haute cuisine together with resident chef Domenico Ruberto.

Following on, guests will be treated to unforgettable evenings of gastronomy, hosted by great Swiss chefs, in stunning locations, including: Villa Principe Leopoldo, Swiss Diamond Hotel, Grand Hotel Villa Castagnola, Splendide Royal Hotel, Ciani Lugano, Blue Restaurant&Lounge, Ascona Sun Castle and Villa Orselina.

The Festival will close at the Splendide Royal Hotel in Lugano on 25 October, where the event will conclude among Ticono's most talented chefs, including: Federico Palladino, Francesco Sangalli, Bernard Fournier, Andrea Muggiano and Andrea Levratto.

This year's guests of honour include some of the rising stars of Swiss gastronomy, namely, Silvio Germann of the Igniv by Andreas Caminada restaurant Bad Ragaz, Tobias Funke with his Gasthaus Zur Fernsicht and the Gourmet Restaurant Enchant, Stefan Heilemann new Chef of the Widder Hotel in Zurich, Mitja Birlo from 7132 Silver from Vals, Sven Wassmer from the Memories restaurant in the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz, Christian Kuchler from Taverne zum Schäfli Wigoltingen, Paolo Rota from the restaurant Da Vittorio at the Hotel Carlton in St. Moritz and Sebastian Zier of the Einstein Restaurant in 2 St. Gallen, flanked by great masters led by chef André Jaeger, all of whom have made, and will continue to make, history in Swiss catering.

Other special evenings include a 'tapas night' at the Seven Lugano The Restaurant, an evening dedicated to lake fish at the new Meta Restaurant with a menu specially created by Luca Bellanca, and a promotional stop at the Grand Hotel du Lac of Vevey, with a team of great Ticino chefs.

A limited edition and celebratory diamond bottle of S.Pellegrino water, created in honour of its 120th birthday, will also take centre stage on each table.
