Food and design go hand in hand the Fuorisalone satellite events at Milan's Design Week 2017. Here are some of the top venues to weave into your agenda.
After having reviewed the essential food and drink addresses for design lovers in Milan during Design Week, we take a closer look at all the wider food themed events happening as part of Fuorisalone 2017, as well as some of the unmissable food themed installations.
Food lovers will be generously catered for amidst the design offering with a huge volume of events spread across the city with some incredible ideas for kitchen furniture, street food, cooking shows with star chefs and edible themed partys, of course.

Fuori Salone 2017 Street Food and More
Street Food Experience in Ventura Lambrate
The long-awaited Street Food Experience returns to the Fuorisalone in one of the most interesting design districts. Twelve to fifteen events will take place set in the garden and led by chefs Dario Cecchini, Riccardo Gaspari, Takeshi Iwai, Cesare Battisti and Eugenio Roncoroni. In addition Tamu McPherson, the blogger and photographer, will translate the Italian recipes into English in real time. Don't miss out on the aperitifs either, which willl be accompanied by some of the most innovative companies in the food and wine sector (Cortilia, Viniamo and Quomi). Music and cocktails will continue until 9pm.

Hungry for Design: Porta Romana
This is a new entry for Fuorisalone 2017. The world of design will combine with culinary experience in one of the most attractive pockets of Porta Romana. A foodie mecca where numerous restaurants and bistros have opened in recent years.

Eat Urban Food Truck Festival
For the past three years Fuorisalone revellers have enjoyed the secluded space devoted to the food trucks in the Sant'Ambrogio area, a safe haven to eat something good without spending a fortune. Throughout the Milan Design Week food from around the world will feature in the garden of the former convent of San Vittore 49: where piaggio cars and kitchens on 4 wheels will be open from 10am to 11pm where guests can enjoy everything from burgers to bocadillos washed down with beer or spritz.

Sea Food Mobile: The Kitchen Boat
Had enough of food trucks? Then jump aboard the Sea Food Mobile Kitchen, the first boat ever built for Design Week which will be "docked" in a tunnel in connected warehouses. Obviously the boat will boast a sea-themed menu, including fish sandwiches.

Food Court and Wine Bar in Parco Sempione
Thanks to Inhabits, Milan's main green area, Parco Sempione, will be transformed into a food court for Milan Design Week, especially around Piazza del Cannone, where the focus will be urban sustainability alongside international street food and drinks from Hyperbar. In addition, at the Hidden Farm the ColorZone can be found, where art and Italian design will be discussed with a wine bar open both in the afternoon and evening.

FUORISALUME 2017 - FREIGHT
Fancy a design themed drink? The Salumera of Design, organized in collaboration with Salami Pasini, is an appetizer for the people of the full freight Design Week Creative District. A simple aperitif served with fine Lombardy salami, opening April 6 and April 7-8-9 with the addition of vinyl music by Design Salumeria.

Events Fuori Salone 2017- Exhibitions and Chefs
Salone Satellite with Rapisarda - Porta Nuova
On 4 April at Fabbrica del Vapore, there will be the inauguration of the exhibition for the 20th Anniversary curated by Beppe Finessi with special edition pieces created by designers on display. And chef Alessandro Rapisarda - winner of the Italian final of S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2016 - will be there for the occasion taking care of dinner held from 18.30 to 20pm (by invitation only).

28 Posti and the Milan Design Week - Navigli Zone
Chef Marco Ambrosino of 28 Posti- the restaurant near navigli - hosts designers with different events and offers a fixed menu of six courses involving among others Sgrombro envy and lemon, pear and chocolate, dill sauce and seaweed. Events begin on April 4 with Matteo Cibic and continue with EligoStudio (April 5), Diego Grandi (April 6), Maddalena Casadei (April 7), Cristina Celestino (April 8). Find more details here.

The Serious About Food Kitchen Lab - Triennale
The Triennale of Milan will host an event/installation involving eight international architects and designers, who will each interpret the concept of kitchen. A laboratory is proposed as a hub of creativity and experimentation. It will be an immersive experience for the public thanks to video content and graphic projections of Bernhardt & Vella, Castiglia Associati, Kensaku Oshiro, Marc Sadler, Matali Crasset, Rachel Laxer, Tor Interiors and Victor Vasilev. And after Milan the exhibition will be flown to Paris and London.

The Snitch Design Market - Porta Romana
The Room returns, the special event for the Fuorisalone combining food, fashion, music and design with the Snitch Design Market where artisans and artists will exhibit their creations linked by the common theme of travel. Every day from 12 the event, experience the "Special Snitch Lunch" of delicious street food dishes with show chef Emmanuele Cucchi from Sambacooking. De-Tox at Rinascente Department Store
Do you need a detox to recover from all over the design and the cocktail party? Then pass by Rinascente in Duomo where you will find the corner de-tox corner containing detox products geared to holistic well-being. Located on the second floor of the Annex (the part oriented to the design of the Rinascente in via Renegonda), the area will be an oasis of well-being in the middle of the city.
