There are some great food documentaries available to watch on YouTube. One we’d like to highlight is this brilliant series on the Roux family and the impact they had and continue to have on the British dining scene and beyond.
The Roux brothers, Albert and Michel, were the first chefs to win three Michelin stars in the UK, at London’s Le Gavroche, and trained some of the biggest names in the business, including Pierre Koffmann, Marco Pierre White and Gordon Ramsay.
Their legacy at Le Gavroche lives on through Michel Roux Jr, son of Albert, while Michel Sr’s The Waterside Inn in Bray, now overseen by his son Alain Roux, has maintained its three Michelin star status for 25 years. They also founded the Roux Scholarship, as way to give young chefs a leg up into the industry.
