What does it take to make the ultimate S'mores for an all-star barbecue? Find out by watching this inaugural behind-the-scenes video from Taste Talks Chicago, a food event sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna. As part of the Taste Talks series, which was held earlier this fall, chefs were paired with creative professionals who aren't in the food business. Their assignment? To collaborate on a dish together.
Thus, in this video we see how pastry chef Mindy Segal of Mindy's Hot Chocolate dessert bar in Chicago and Tereasa Surratt, co-owner of Camp Wandawega resort, worked together to make gourmet S'mores. Inspired the outdoor beauty of Camp Wandawega, Segal crafted a S'mores recipe featuring homemade marshmallows roasted on apple branches, graham crackers made from scratch and homemade candy bars. Not surprisingly, the dessert was a hit.
"Creative minds, whether they are creative from different ends, can meet somewhere in the middle and do something great together,'' Segal explains. Check out what it was like for these two talented ladies to work together:
