For four days, Turin was the world’s food capital, thanks to the Salone del Gusto - the biennial event created and promoted by Slow Food. Foodies, industry insiders and passionate epicureans descend upon the city to taste, discuss, and discover specialties from over 300 producers coming from over 50 countries.
The festival occupied the post-industrial spaces of the Lingotto area, just above the city center, which welcomed representatives from various regions - Italian and beyond - whose local specialties and products are unique to their own territories.
Simultaneously with the Salone del Gusto event, Turin also played host to Terra Madre, an event organized by the network that connects food communities from all corners of the earth. From Kenema cola producers in Sierra Leone to Brazil’s licurì palms, each product here has a story to tell.
