In fact, it seems the Japanese love rice so much that they need to be able to cook it while they're driving.
Which is why the the Japan Professional Network have developed the Takeru-kun - an on-the-go rice cooker for the car.
It plugs into the socket of the car and can cook rice in just 25 minutes - it's advised that users should not cook rice while driving but one can't help but imagine the scene where Homer Simpson realizes he can use the electric in his car only to crash moments later while trying to fry donuts on the go.
