“A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips,” is something we‘ve never said, but food lip art, the beauty trend currently sweeping Instagram, is all about food lingering that little bit longer on the lips.

The food lip art craze is credited to make-up artist and beauty blogger Amanda Cadena and now Instagram beauty obsessives are taking note.

There are a whole host of different food lip art designs going around. We like make–up artist @valdamua’s fruity cherries and strawberries below, as well as her highly realistic sushi creation, also below. It looks like a lot of fun to create these.

We don’t know how robust the lipstick is, but surely if you caught sight of yourself in the mirror it’d be torture trying not to lick the sweet skin of those plump cherries? Or, perhaps it could help you to choose what to have for dinner that evening?
