Jacques Pépin, one of America's legendary chefs and sidekick to the late Julia Child, has traded cooking for art.
A longtime painter and sketch artist, Pépin is currently exhibiting his work at the Art Essex Gallery in Essex, Connecticut, according to Bon Appétit. The exhibit features paintings and drawings from as far back as the 1960s - some of which you can see below. The exhibit will run until November 18.
Before coming to America, Pépin was a personal chef to three French heads of state, including Charles de Gaulle. Author to numerous cookbooks, the chef has hosted a range of food shows on public television earning him the James Beard Award for Best National Cooking Segment and Best Culinary Video.
