It would be perfect for the setting of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, or maybe Pinocchio’s Toyland: Roca on Wheels, a dessert cart created by Spanish designer Andreu Carulla for the world famous El Celler de Can Roca restaurant in Girona, Spain.
Fun and colorful, Roca on Wheels is a sort of journey to Wonderland "long ago forgotten by contemporary techno-emotional cuisine", explains the designer: "The first feeling is of surprise, that gets to the its highest point the moment Jordi Roca starts to pump producing a magical effect of a four tiered cake full of delicacies."
The cart is currently being used in the El Celler de Can Roca restaurant, which was voted number 2 on the World's 50 Best Restaurants List in 2011.
We brought the news recently that Jordi Roca, who is the youngest sibling of three brothers and a trained pastry chef, will be opening an ice cream shop in the same town as the Roca's restaurant. Jordi is known for his magical and surprising desserts and the cart only adds to this experience - we only hope that a similar design is being planned for the brothers' new Rocambolesc ice cream shop when it opens later this year.
