The country specific pavilions for Expo Milano 2015 are popping up in the city as we get closer to the opening of the next food themed world fair.
So far we’ve looked at what the USA, China and Germany will bring to Italy for Expo Milan 2015 and today we look at the wonderful laminated wood structure that will house the French Pavilion.
The organisers of the French pavilion say they will focus directly on the central issue posed by Expo Milano 2015, asking how can we feed the world, today and tomorrow? The project will do this through four key pillars: global food production, new food models, self-sufficiency and quantity with quality.
The amazing structure is certainly impressive and was inspired by the covered markets found across France. The pavilion will evolve throughout the expo thanks to herbs and plants that will be planted directly in the wooden structure. The design can also be dismantled and reused another time and will evolve throughout the expo.
For food the French pavilion will have three separate locations that promise wonderful scenery. There will be a restaurant, a brasserie and a quick refreshment point. There will also be a boutique offering a mix of traditional French foods.
Visitors will also be able to learn a few tricks with a special ‘savoir-faire’ demonstration zone - a term that refers to knowing what to do in any situation.
