Designer Lamps Made of Coffee Cups

Coffee seems to inspire some of the coolest food design - like these creature cups or the textspresso machine that makes coffee when you text it.

Now, designers Ingo Maurer and Fabien Dumas have teamed up to produce a line of whimsical lamps called Lights au Lait. As the name suggests, the lamps are inspired by - you guessed it! - coffee.

Each lamp from the collection is made of ceramic a coffee cup, a saucer and a spoon which are strategicaly placed to produce light. We wonder how many cups of joe it took to come up with this functional food design...
