Up your pancake game with this custard cream pancake recipe for a fluffy, delicious treat with a runny custard cream filling.
This mesmerising video is worth watching for the sound alone. Some great care was taken to record every sound for an ASMR-type experience. Bonus points for the birdsong at the end. The recipe is simple and calls for nothing that you won’t already have in your kitchen. The pancakes are made in a pancake tray that is put on the stovetop.
After combining the pancake ingredients first in a measuring jug and whisking well to a smooth consistency, the mixture is then set aside while the custard cream filling is made. The filling, once chilled, is then spooned onto the pancake halves when they are almost cooked and sandwiched between the two layers.
Serve chilled for a delicious breakfast treat, or indeed, at any other time of the day.
