With Milan’s annual Salone Internazionale del Mobile - probably the most highly anticipated event dedicated to design and furniture on the worldwide calendar - closing tomorrow, Fine Dining Lovers provides you a selection of some of the newest and coolest kitchen - or kitchen inspired - items, presented at this year's event.
The yearly appointment is a great opportunity for designers to catch up with each other and for the rest of us to observe the latest trends in furniture, technology and home design. Still, this year's edition is even more important for food lovers because 2014 is the year of Eurocucina, the biannual fair where the latest innovations for the kitchen are presented.
Boffi for instance, presented its first outdoors kitchen (in the image at the top of the page) and Smeg, an entire new range of 50s inspired appliances that complement the Italian brand's pop fridges and washing machines. Mayor brands like Baccarat grasped the opportunity to celebrate big anniversaries with limited edition objects. Talking about objects that are used around the table, this year we noticed an expanded presence of artisanal ceramics. Luca Nichetto, Faye Toogood and BCXSJ presented such objects. At the same time a modernised vision of tradition, was the theme that inspired brands such as Alessi and Droog.
We've selected some of the favourite objects that we saw while walking around the hundreds of events of this year's Salone del Mobile, watch the gallery!
