Food on the Edge 2024 is just around the corner with an exciting line up of influential guest speakers set to take the stage at Ireland’s premier annual food symposium, which will be held at the Atlantic Technical University in Galway, on the 21st and 22nd of October.
This year’s speakers’ programme is packed with the great and the good of international gastronomy, who will be leaning into the theme of ‘A Sense of Place’ in no doubt wildly different and inspiring ways, at the event masterminded by chef JP McMahon (pictured).
Aisha Ibrahim, Fatmata Binta, Gary Usher, and Fadi Katan are just some of the chefs speaking on day one, as well as former elBulli sommelier David Seijas, chef and food writer Romy Gill, and journalist Nathan Thornburgh of Roads & Kingdoms.
Fine Dining Lovers’ own Tom Jenkins will also be speaking on day one, on the subject of no and low alcohol innovation in fine dining, discussing recent developments in this exciting area of food and beverage and how there is now very much a place for non-drinkers in the world of high gastronomy.
Jenkins will also make an appearance on day two of Food on the Edge 2024, moderating a panel dedicated to the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy, with guest chefs Joris Bijdendijk, Daniel Hannigan, Mojmir Šiftar, and Mike Tweedie, all of whom have been involved with the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy Competition.
Also appearing on day two will be chefs Matt Orlando, Pam Brunton, and Vanika Choudhary, alongside Lotta and Per-Anders Jörgensen of Fool Magazine, and author and co-founder of the Noma Fermentation Lab, Arielle Johnson. The event will draw to a close with talks from chefs Sally Abé and Ebru Baybara Demir, winner of the 2023 Basque Culinary World Prize.
