British chef Aktar Islam is offering a Curry Box that can lay claim to being the best takeaway curry in the country.
Aktar @ Home, a pivot to takeaway food from one of the UK’s foremost chefs Aktar Islam, whose restaurant Opheem was the first Indian restaurant to be awarded a Michelin star outside London, is the chef’s reaction to the government’s lockdown strategy that saw thousands of restaurants and bars close to diners.
Islam has travelled extensively all over India, and that’s where he takes inspiration for the curries. The prepare-at-home takeaway curries include flavours and styles that come from different parts of India, which are unique to those regions.
The Aktar @ Home Curry Box, available from his Birmingham restaurant (and delivered locally and nationally), provides a selection of 10 traditional curry dishes by Islam. For £60, diners will get enough for a very generous banquet for four, several meals for two, or a whole week of dinners for one.
