Earlier this year Heston Blumenthal announced big plans to relocate his three Michelin-starred restaurant The Fat Duck to Australia. It has now been revealed the whole process will be filmed as part of a documentary series.
Blumenthal's "longtime producer" Jay Taylor will accompany the chef to Australia to work on the series which will air before The Fat Duck opens, Eater reports. Taylor previously produced the chef's other successful shows: Heston's Feasts and Heston's Great British Food.
The Fat Duck in Australia will open in February 2015 inside the Crown Casino in Melbourne. Blumenthal will relocate his entire team and menu to Australia for sixth months. The move is part of a big celebration planned for the restaurant's 20th anniversary.
After the pop-up wraps up, the chef will open a second branch of his acclaimed London restaurant Dinner by Heston Blumenthal at the resort. This would be the chef's first permanent restaurant outside of the UK.
Dinner by Heston Blumenthal currently ranks fifth on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna.
