The film stars Katrine Greis-Rosenthal as Maggie and Nikolaj CosterWaldau (aka Jamie Lannister from Game of Thrones) as Carsten, an ambitious couple with two children and a hunger to make their mark with their restaurant. CosterWaldau stars as the celebrity chef obsessed with taste, while his screen wife Greis-Rosenthal plays an anthropologist. Together they jeopardise their relationships and financial security with their Michelin-star obsession.
Forty-year-old CosterWaldau, who was a dab hand at wielding a sword as Jamie Lannister, appears to be equally adept at managing a knife as chef Carsten. Naturally, the team were able to tap into a pool of locally available professional talent, with chef Bo Lindegaard serving as a consultant for the production, even creating the opening dish, and chef Rasmus Munk from the Alchemist is also said to have had some input.
A Taste of Hunger was directed by Christoffer Boe, produced by Louise Vesth and written by Tobias Lindholm and Christoffer Boe, and arrives in cinemas and on demand on 28 January.
