YESS is a progressive Japanese restaurant from Chef Junya Yamasaki and Team YESS celebrating the surrounding Southern California nature. YESS focuses on working with only the best local seasonal ingredients and treating them with a reverence inspired from traditional Japanese cuisine.
The restaurant is housed in a landmark 1920's former bank building in the heart of Los Angeles' Arts District. YESS cooks from an old-style Japanese wood-fired stove and charcoal grill, surrounded by a long cypress counter and a spacious, comfortable dining room.
Prepared from scratch daily, the menu continues to showcase Chef Junya's commitment to using limited, local, catch-specific ingredients, reflecting the natural world's whims and eccentricities, recognized by the New York Times and Esquire as one of LA's most exciting recent openings.
