Chickpeas
400 g (2 tins), drained
Hazelnuts
200 g, chopped
Onion
2 each, grated
Carrots
4 each, grated
Red pepper
1, deseeded and diced
Thyme
5 ml, chopped
Eggs
1, beaten
Cumin
5 ml, ground
Coriander
5 ml, ground
All purpose flour
15 ml
Salt
To taste
Pepper
To Taste
Oil
60 ml
Preparation
- Heat the grill.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the chickpeas with the other ingredients, except the oil.
- Shape the mixture into 6-8 burgers and chill for 1 hour.
- Place on the grill pan.
- Brush each with oil and grill for 2-3 minutes until lightly browned.
- Carefully turn the burgers over, brush with more oil and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
